I'm trying to finish up a lot of things... and I'm still in the middle of everything but I posted this once--and then might have posted it twice...but I wanted to make sure I posted it because its awesome.
Remember that old story about crossdressers? Well, I not only had one bit of art for Kyle but TWO. One was for Christmas, the other was for the sequel I still haven't finished. Both? Are utterly amazing.
Lets take a look (or a repeat look if I've blathered about this months ago and forgot/can't find it(very possible ><;))( Read more... )

This is a marker for what would have been an emo post caused by first of the year illness.

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single person who's friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer.

This semester I moved from one apartment to another cross city by myself on a bus. I took a ferry from Busan, South Korea to Hakata, Japan. Bullet trains from Hakata to Osaka-Osaka to Tokyo. I found a friend at Tokyo Station because I knew how to think lost. I got rundown by exuberant ryokan owners Nagaoka. I found a cheap business hotel in Hiroshima, remembered the streets of Kyoto, and frolicked along the suicide cliffs in Fukui. I wore my favorite cloths in Tokyo and visited the Miyazaki museum. I visited friends I'd never met before three times over. I traveled 12001 miles. I took three classes for twelve credit hours, finished up a fourth class, took the GRE, applied for Doctorate school, and finished my Masters Degree.
I've failed in a lot of ways... but goddamn does that feel good.
That's been my four months paired down to only the awesome.

So I'm working on the Sequel to Fortune Cookies. It should be stand alone so if all goes well BangBang will have the update. For those of you who read the original start(or for the random people who have a general love of Kyle and Angelo) what do you think of some public molestation? I mean, I know sex isn't everything--but I'm thinking of rehashing a new beginning and, well, Kyle's a bit of a bitch. >3
Also, did you ever want to see a picture of Kyle? I did. I drew a godawful one ages ago (you might remember my tongue in cheek images about femininity and ukes). Luckily this is not one of mine but is instead an amazing drawing by

Click on the image to send her a hundred hearts and tell her how amazing the artwork is. I'm still all giddy and aflutter from it. <3

On more serious news: ALMOST done with my masters and other applications :D

I did this last year and I decided I wanted to do it again. I really do love the holiday lists. I like being able to share photos or cards or bits of nonsense I have to make people smile--even if they aren't on my friends list and even if I don't really know them. It's fun, harmless, and I know a little joy can go a long way sometimes. So here's hoping everyone has a wonderful holiday season, finds a little joy, and stumbles into an awesome new year.

I think it would be fun to talk about stories, but the usual memes are like, "What happens next?" "Tell me about Character A?" Which isn't so much talking about stories as it is writing more of a story. But you know how sometimes you read something and you're like, "I got ___ out of this story, I wonder if I have that right?" or "What on earth was ____ supposed to be?" and it's too awkward to ask the author? Now you could totally ask!
I've heard people say that writing is hard because you have to make decisions, but we never really talk about the decisions we make with stories or why we make them. We talk about plot bunnies, but not about how we actually turn them into a story.
So, if you wanted, ask me questions!
What were you trying to do [here]? Why did you decide to ____? This is what I thought about xyz, is that what you were going for? What made you write ____? Why did you decide to do this? And so on.
